Description
Belgian, 18th century. A hand woven wool tapestry, depicting a village on a river, flanked by a verdant forest, with a female figure in the foreground playing a lute. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 58.75", width 71".
Condition
Overall good condition commensurate with age and use. Some scattered areas of repair, a few with stitched silk fabric to reverse, appearing to be moth damage. Some areas of repaired stitching and some loose threads. Some fading to color, but still vivid. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
