Roman Empire, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. Rare and quite fine cast bronze hasp from a chest. Tall, thin device to close a wooden chest in the form an anthropomorphic figure, nude from the waist up, hands to the side of his face. Suspension loop and coiled wire at top, rectangular closing device at lower reverse. Custom base. Size: 5.25" H (13.3 cm)
