Description
New World, Native American, Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico, ca. mid 20th century CE. A delightful cuboid ceramic jar with a square lid topped by a diminutive bear. The body of the jar and lid is a smooth, earthy red, with two studded blue turquoise beads forming the eyes. On one side of the jar is an incised bear claw, also studded with a turquoise bead. The figure is signed "Eloy Naranjo Santa Clara Pueblo." Size with lid: 3" W x 5.1" H (7.6 cm x 13 cm)
