PENNSYLVANIA LINEN PLAIN-WEAVE HAND TOWEL / SHOW TOWEL, rectangular, drawn-work border at bottom, with fringe; design featuring four goats, four diamonds, four flowers, and two eight-pointed stars, and "CHRISTINA TYSON" between two bands of cross-stitching. Possibly Montgomery Co., Pennsylvania. First half 19th century. 62" x 17 1/4" OA.
Very good condition overall with some toning to drawn work and fading to red embroidery.
Provenance: From the Allentown Art Museum to benefit future acquisitions for the Museum's textile collection.
