STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED AMERICAN HISTORICAL CERAMIC TODDY PLATE, having dark blue transfer design "Cadmus" noted on reverse with ship in full sail, figures fishing in foreground, and floral border. Unmarked. Staffordshire and other areas. 1825-1830. 5 3/8" D.
Undamaged with some wear to interior.
Literature: Transferware Collectors Club database pattern #2796.
Provenance: From the collection of Kurt O' Hare and Barbara O' Hare, Putnam Valley, NY.
Catalogue Note: "Cadmus" was the ship which brought LaFayette on his return trip from France to America in 1824.
