AMERICAN OR EUROPEAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART PORTRAIT OF A LADY, oil on canvas, stylized bust-length depiction of sitter in elaborate high-waisted Empire-style gown with lace collar, she sporting gold earrings, chain, and brooch, no signature located. Housed in a 19th-century frame. Circa 1830. 19 1/2" x 15 1/2" sight, 23 3/4" x 19 3/4" OA.
Portrait in good visual condition with scattered craquelure, minor edge abrasions. Frame with wear and losses.
