AMERICAN OR EUROPEAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART PORTRAIT OF A LADY, oil on canvas laid down on board, three-quarter-length depiction of a stylish young figure sporting gold earrings, coral necklace, high-waisted gown with elaborate tiered collar, and paisley-printed shawl or wrap, no signature located. Housed in a later gilt frame. Circa 1825. 29 1/2" x 22" sight, 33 1/2" x 26 1/4" OA.
Good visual condition with minor scattered abrasions, surface loss, and areas of discoloration. Scattered areas of minor inpainting to background, and figure's neck, forehead, hair, and dress.
