Description
Chinese k'uan-type "hu" vase. Of archaic "hu" shape with a sloping neck, covered all over with a smooth bluish-celadon glaze suffused with a network of dark russet crackle permeated by finer golden russet crackles, the glaze thinning to iron black around the rim, fitted with wood stand, 6.8"h. Provenance: property from a private estate, by descent. Formerly from the collection of private UK collector Donald Ratcliffe; purchased from John Sparks London. Accompanying this lot is a photocopy of original receipt (see item 1) dated June 16, 1978
