attributed BESSIE POTTER VONNOH (American 1872-1955) A BRONZE SCULPTURE, CIRCA 1900, ROMAN BRONZE WORKS, NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, signed in monogram, foundry monogram at base, of a seated baby discovering his toes, on a verde antico marble plinth base, height: 4 1/2", width: 2", depth: 2"; together with a maquette figural group of a mother and child at play, in the manner of Bessie Potter Vonnoh, on a figured black marble plinth base, and a figure of Apollo standing in contra posto on an integral circular base, after 1st century BC examples, height: 8 3/4", diameter: 2" (3)
Condition
Some greenish and white colored patina within the crevices. The marble base may be a later addition, otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age.
