Description
A rare Egyptian Minb-Axe, copper alloy, First Intermediate Period, 9th – 10th Dynasty, c. 2160 – 2055 BC, the blade wide and flat and lightly flared with rounded cutting edge, the back side flat with a lug at either side. W: 5 1/8 in (13cm), H: 4 1/5 in (10.6cm). Cf. Petrie, Tools and Weapons, (London, 1917), pl.
