(1754-1844) Prominent American Revolutionary War physician and writer, instrumental in the decision to execute British spy John Andre. A.L.S., 1p. 8vo., Plymouth, Feb. 21, 1834, to James Herring. Thacher acknowledges his receipt of several volumes of Herring's history of Plymouth, and asks Herring for advice dealing with a book dealer, whom Thacher think is unfairly charging him for Herrings books.
