EZEKIEL CORNELL
(1732 - 1800) Revolutionary War general who also represented Rhode Island in the Continental Congress from 1780 to 1782. Cornell fought at fought at Bunker Hill and Long Island and was one of those who arrested the mayor of New York on suspicion of plotting the murder of Washington. Very rare war-date A.D.S. adding rank as brigadier general, 1p. 8" x 3", [n.p., n.d. but 1777-78], in full: "Capt. Rice is permitted to carry out of this Town Two Bushels of salt for himself and two for his Brother Josephus." Very good.
