The co-authors give a brief history of photography's first eighty years in Brazil. Includes portraits of the Imperial Family and a map of the country keyed to a chronological grid with cities and photographers. The bulk of the book comprises biographies and pictures by fifteen Brazilian photographers, virtually all of them unknown to North Americans at the time. Among them: Milato Augusto de Azevedo, Victor Frond, and Marc Ferrez, the standout. This copy signed by author Naef. Fine condition.
