Description: 218, [1] pp. Illustrated profusely from portraits, sketches, and views including frontispiece. 29.8x21.5 cm (11¾x8½"), recased in original quarter morocco over cloth boards, lettered in gilt.Comprehensive pioneer history of the county, replete with illustrations and data tables. New Howes S529. Ex-libris ink stamps, plus handwritten presentation note dedicating this copy to the Sisters of Mercy in Yreka California laid in.
Condition
Minor rubbing and bumping to boards; gutters reinforced with cloth tape, various toning and occasional foxing, numerous edge tears repaired with tape, images unaffected, with exception of portrait of Patrick Tierney; very good.
