BLENKO NO. 961 - WINSLOW ANDERSON FLAT-SIDE VASES, LOT OF THREE, ruby, each with a factory-polished rim, larger example signed and dated by the artist and retains original label. Mid-20th century. 5 3/4" to 9 7/8" H.
Virtually undamaged with each having typical minor roughness to the rims, as made, one smaller example with a minor polished area to the side, likely as made.
Literature: Parallels Piña - Blenko: Cool '50s & '60s glass, p. 107.
Provenance: Winslow Anderson estate sold to benefit the Huntington Museum of Art.
Exhibited: Huntington Museum of Art, 8/22/99-1/9/2000.
Catalogue Note: Winslow Anderson was the first design director at Blenko, he held this position from 1946 - 1952 before moving on as a design director for Lenox China in 1953.
