PROTOTYPE BLENKO GLASS - WINSLOW ANDERSON VASE, pale blue with ruby bull's eyes, ball form with six bull's eyes, rough pontil mark, signed, "WINSLOW ANDERSON/BLENKO". Mid-20th century. 7 1/2" H, 8 3/4" DOA.
Undamaged with a few isolated minor scratches.
Provenance: Winslow Anderson estate sold to benefit the Huntington Museum of Art.
Exhibited: Huntington Museum of Art, 1981.
Catalogue Note: Winslow Anderson was the first design director at Blenko, he held this position from 1946 - 1952 before moving on as a design director for Lenox China in 1953.
