PROTOTYPE BLENKO GLASS - WINSLOW ANDERSON BOWLS, LOT OF TWO, comprising a ruby and amber example with each having a factory-polished base; each signed and dated by the artist. Mid-20th century. 2 3/4" H, 10 1/2" D ruby, 3" H, 11" D amber.
Undamaged with each having expected minor shelf wear to the base.
Provenance: Winslow Anderson estate sold to benefit the Huntington Museum of Art.
Catalogue Note: Winslow Anderson was the first design director at Blenko, he held this position from 1946 - 1952 before moving on as a design director for Lenox China in 1953. According to the notes of the Huntington Museum, these two bowls are categorized as "unique".
