James Monroe was the 5th president of the young United States, and represented the last of the "Founding Fathers" Presidents and the last of the Virginian Presidents. Monroe served as President from 1817 to 1825, and was considered one of the best Presidents to have held the office. This land grant is dated October 20th, 1824, and has an intact paper seal in the lower left corner with is extremely rare for these pieces. The document measures approx. 15.5" x 9.5" and is housed in a black wooden frame. This piece is an incredible piece of U.S. history, and is truly investment quality.
