This lot consists of the two-volume set "Abrege de l'histoire de la Hollande et des Provinces-Unies, depuis les tems les plus anciens jusqu'a nos jours" by L. G. F. Kerroux (Leiden: Chez Jacques Murray, 1778).

This abridged history of Holland and its provinces ranges from ancient times to the time of publication. The volumes are bound in pictorial paper-covered boards, with leather backstrips. Gilt lettering and embellishments appear, faded, on the backstrips. Both volumes display engraved vignettes to the title pages, as well as engraved head and tailpieces through the text.

The exteriors of these volumes display minor soiling and very faint moisture markings, with faint cracking present to the leather backstrips, especially at the heads of the spines. The front hinges of both volumes are cracked, with rear hinges showing internal strain. The pages remain secure. Interiors of both volumes display occasional mild foxing, occasional spots of soiling, scattered pencil markings in the margins, and slight rippling to the pages.
