  • Condition
Fair. These are two Eric Sloane volumes, "Reverence for Wood" (110 pages), and "Diary of an Early American Boy," (108 pages), each published by Wilfred Funk. "Reverence for Wood", a 1965 first printing, has a worn dust jacket, with tear along the outer edges of the flaps, a large stain to the back, and smaller stains to the front. The price is not clipped. The cover is in very good condition, with no stains or fade, and no tears. The inside is also very good, with light foxing to the page edges, but with the page faces clean throughout the book, with no stains or scuffs, no tears or creases. There are no stamps or other attachments. There is no writing. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. All the text and art, including the color samples of american wood, are as new. The second volume, a 1962 third printing, has a dust jacket in much better condition, with a few light stains, but clean overall, with no fade or tears. The price is not clipped on this one, either. The cover has light sunning to its top edges, but no stains or note, no tears or creases, no fade to the background or lettering. The inside cover spreads and page edges have light foxing. A few of the foxed edges bleed into the page faces, but no more than a quarter inch. Almost all page faces have none of this bleed, and no other stains. There are no stamps or other attachments, and no writings. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. There are no tears or creases. All the text and art, including the four-panel fold-out, are clean and unfaded.
