Dallmeyer's Soft Focus "4.D. Patent" Lens, c. 1900
J.H. Dallmeyer, London (patented 1866 and 1909). Lens no. 65812, focal length approx. 45 cm, for waterhouse stop, front element 2 ½ in., lens diameter 4 in., height with lens hood 6 ¾ in. – Interesting to note is the rotating rear-lens mount with four I–IIII grooves, through which the spherical aberration can be influenced and a "soft focus" effect achieved. Optics in need of attention.

Objektiv-Nr. 65812, Brennweite ca. 45 cm, für Steckblenden, Frontlinse ca. 6,5 cm, Objektivdurchmesser 10 cm, Höhe 17 cm. – Die Besonderheit ist, daß die hintere Linse (Linsenglied) gemäß Stricheinkerbungen von I bis IIII drehbar ist, wodurch die sphärische Aberration zunimmt und ein "Soft Focus"-Effekt entsteht. Optik benötigt Pflege.
