Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, Autlan variety, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. Two hand-built figures, seated with hands to chests, both with applied details such as coffee-bean shaped eyes, necklaces, shoulder pellets, and tasseled belt (on one), also showing nice remains of white pigments as well as sharp, incised lines typical of the Autlan variety. Size: larger measures 2.625" L x 1.875" W x 3.125" H (6.7 cm x 4.8 cm x 7.9 cm)
Provenance: Ex-private Kayden collection, acquired in 1960's

Two stable hairlines to filet hair of cross-legged figure. Both with expected surface wear and pigment loss commensurate with age. Nice manganese deposits.
