Description

An early 20th century 15ct gold amethyst and split pearl pendant. Of openwork design, the split pearl and oval-shape amethyst trefoil, with split pearl scrolling surround, pear-shape amethyst drop and chain. May be worn as a brooch. One split pearl deficient. Length of pendant 5.8cms. Length of chain 43cms. Weight 9.1gms.

Condition

Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

One split pearl deficient.

Probably replacement gems.

Split pearls with white/cream body colour and chalky lustre.

Amethysts medium purple, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.

Length of brooch (pendant minus the surmount) 4.6cms.

Surmount possibly replacement.

Pendant stamped 15ct.

Surmount loop to the reverse of pendant, safety chain deficient.
