Description
Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Nariño, ca. 1250 CE. A Nariño pottery whistle of a shape akin to an abstract seashell, decorated with bichrome red and cream negative resist, a Nariño signature technique, featuring an abstract rendering of three jaguars in composite profile creeping across the body along with two stylized pictographs. Perforations at one end for suspension. A fabulous Pre-Columbian wind musical instrument, beautiful and musical too! Comes with stand. Size: 3.5" L x 2.75" W (8.9 cm x 7 cm); 3.125" W x 4" H (7.9 cm x 10.2 cm) on stand.
