Description
Pre-Columbian, Maya, Maya Highlands, southern Mexico to Guatemala, ca. 550 to 850 CE. Simply one of the most striking examples of a bi-chrome cylinder we have had the pleasure of offering. Tall, slightly corseted body with reserve band at top followed by deeply carved glyph band highlighted with added cinnabar. Central area with two similar glyphs of God A - shown with beard, bulging eyeball. Size: 6.625" Diameter x 10.875" H (16.8 cm x 27.6 cm)
