Ancient Egyptian Lapis Head of a Pharaoh with Bronze Beard Ca. 700 B.C.-30 B.C.Size:1-1/4 inch High.Finely carved lapis Lazuli head of a pharaoh from a figure, having an inset bronze beard and finely carved facial features. Small round drilled shallow socket in the front rim of crown, which probably once held a bronze inset or serpent head. A beautiful example.Provenance:Ex Arte Primitivo, 07/25/2014 Lot Lot 169, Ex; Private Brooklyn collection, acquired by descent, collected 1940s.
