Description
HENRY HOOPER NO. 619 BRASS SOLAR STAND LAMP, pyriform font with panels, baluster-form stem with leaves over a ladies head depicting Martha Washington on two sides at base, double-step marble base with cast-brass ornamentation. Converted to kerosene with a No. 2 collar and electrified. Fitted with a colorless and frosted shade with everted neck, rolled rim and a cut and engraved floral and panels pattern, star and snowflake patterned colorless prisms. Circa 1850. 23 3/8" H to top of shade, 14 1/2" H to top of collar. Shade 10 1/4" H, 4 3/4" D fitter.
Lamp drilled through side of font, marble with expected imperfections. Shade with a horizontal crack to cut panels below folded rim and expected fitter flakes/roughness, prisms with expected imperfections.
