Description
Rifled octagonal barrel with brass rib and ramrod ferrules mounted below, barrel marked with indistinct makers mark on left flat near breech. Plain percussion back action lock. Figured maple half stock with pewter nose cap and engraved German silver furniture including wearplate, double spur trigger guard with double set triggers, small patchbox with round lid, large inlay on left side of buttstock, sideplate and barrel key escutcheons. Good condition; barrel retains a dark brown patina with some edge wear, scattered marks from use, some pitting around breech and two filled dove tails around rear sight. Brass rib below barrel has two repairs and one ramrod ferrule is replaced. Lock retains a brown patina with some scattered marks from use. Stock is fair with some filled areas and shrinkage around lock and barrel tang. A couple small slivers missing on each side of forend. Silver unpolished.
