Description
Manufactured 1918. Standard military style semi-automatic pistol with square frame and lanyard. This is part of the series of Colt's first successful semi-automatic handgun that began with the Model 1900. These pistols were manufactured until the introduction of the .38 Super in 1929, which made these guns obsolete due to the more powerful cartridge, available in the 1911 frame. Features blued finish, case colored hammer, black composite grips and original magazine stamped "Cal. 38 Colt". The right side retains approximately 40-50% original blue with textured bubbling and freckling on forward portion. On the top and left side of slide the same deterioration can be found and is obviously due to poor storage as the gun in crisp in most respects. Fine action and strong clean bore. Given the sharp edges and markings but poor storage, this would be a great candidate for a full scale professional restoration or the basis of a custom engraved gun while not ruining the value of a high condition original. Serial Number-40129; Manufacturer-Colt; Model-1902; Caliber-.38 Auto (Not Super); Barrel Length-6"; FFL Status-Curio & Relic;
