Item Details

Description

Offered is an extremely fine all original Civil War Sharps carbine that was altered to take the center fire cartridge and was reissued for use during the Indian Wars. This model was manufactured with multi-groove rifling and no patchbox. Standard carbine rear sight, saddle ring and bar, walnut stocks and carbine butt. Left side of stock has a near perfect "D.F.C." inspection ribbon. Barrel is a smooth mix of patina and light blue. Walnut stocks are excellent with a few minor dings and perfectly fitted. Frame is basically patina with flashes of color. Near mint bore. Far above average, extremely historical weapon in that it was used in both the Civil Wars and Indian Wars.
