Item Details
Description
This model replaced the old Model 1897. This is an early Model 39 which began production in 1922 through 1938, keeping the original profile of the 1897 Takedown. Features full octagon blued barrel, full tube magazine, sporting front and rear sight, blued bolt, case colored frame and lever, pistol grip walnut stock, swept grip, no cap, Marlin logo black composite buttplate, Marlin bullseye in stock, large disc tang rear sight. Rear tang is stamped with the six point star. Incredible grain on both sides of buttstock (2-3x). This rifle is in phenomenal condition with all the blue on bolt, 85-90% case colors on frame, some brilliant. Still has some fire blue on screws. All the fire blue on back of hammer, traces of case colors on lever, mostly greyed out. Stocks are near mint, proud to metal, no cracks or chips just a couple of very minor impressions. Barrel and tube retains approximately 98% of the original blue finish with just a couple of minor mars. Razor sharp edges and legends. Perfect action. Strong clean bore. This is one of the sharped Model 39s we have had and by far the nicest wood we have seen on one of these standard rifles. Serial Number-S3281; Manufacturer-Marlin; Model-Lever Action; Caliber-.22 RF; Barrel Length-24"; FFL Status-Curio & Relic;

CORRECTION: Importer stamped mod 1897 next to initials. Very small, but this is a model 39. Low requires a model and he did not know it was under tang sight. Albiet is extremely small.
