Description
This is an antique US WWI Model 1917 trench knife manufactured by Landers, Frary & Clark of New Britain, Connecticut. During the United States' involvement in World War I, the company (known for their housewares) temporarily produced equipment for the military of the United States. The company produced approximately 3 million canteens, 5 million trench knives, millions of mess kits, bacon cans, canteen cups, and similar metalware, as well as practically all of the sabers required by the United States Cavalry.
The face of the guard is marked in three lines: US / L.F. & C. / 1917. Walnut grip.
The total length is 14 1/4". The blade length is 9 1/4". The ricasso is 9/16".

Condition
Some surface scratches and mild oxidation to the blade. Minor wear to the grip. Please examine the images for the best indication of condition.
