The piece reads: Trade and War. By trade and commerce wealth is oft’ obtain’d and by Industry a competence is gain’d. The various products of each foreign soil is brought to cheer the weary labourers toil. But war, destruction, horror, and distress brings poverty and pain and wretchedness. And oft’ as in a moment all is lost, which many years industrious labour cost”. Beautiful yellow, green, and red colored decoration around the border. Some period blue ink staining done on the bottom. On period laid paper. Overall rich & clean. Measures 10 ¾ x 9 inches. Backed with acid free backing & UV protected glass.
