Description
Roman, Late Imperial Period, North Africa, ca. 4th to 5th century CE. A mold-made redware oil lamp of the distinctive later North African style, with a decorated discus around a central motif, a small, pinched handle, two fill-holes, and a long spout. The center of the discus has a fine human bust of a regal figure shown in profile; he wears a turban-like hat and several layers of necklaces and/or cloth around his neck; around him is an abstract diamond and triangle motif repeated. Size: 4.55" L x 2.6" W x 1.7" H (11.6 cm x 6.6 cm x 4.3 cm)
