Item Details

Description

Mason's Ironstone (English, 1813-1973), 19th century. Five pieces, including two large serving platters, two small serving platters, and a footed compote, each with transfer floral and chinoiserie decorations and hand enameled gilt accents. All marked MASON'S" above crown and banner with "PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA", and "Joseph Green & Co./10&11/St. Paul's Church Yard/London" to reverse. Approximate height (of compote) 5.625", diameter 12.25".

Condition

Wear commensurate with age and use. Chips to edges, one large. Roughness to edges of some. Small area of inpainting to one. Glaze pops, craquelure, accretions, scratching, and soiling overall, with losses to enamel and gilt. No other visible signs of damage or repair. Prior to bidding, please consult the additional photos provided and ask all pertinent questions (i.e. condition, size, etc.).
