Description
Stephen Folch, Stoke on Trent (English), circa 1819-1829. A set of four ironstone polychrome enhanced and transferware dinner plates, each decorated with a chinoiserie scene with pheasant, butterflies, elaborate peony, prunus and figures at a table with flower pot. The back of each plate with lion and unicorn crest mark over a banner which reads "Imp. Iron Stone China Stoke Works". Approximate diameter 9.62". Provenance: Property from the Private Collection of Mrs. Nancy Rutledge Pogue, Blufton, South Carolina (wife of Mr. William Pogue, who served as an heir to the H. & S. Pogue Company department store chain based in Cincinnati, Ohio).
