Description
Two early and rare Mason's earthenware serving pieces comprising a melon shaped tureen in the "Floral Basket" pattern and a gravy or sauce boat decorated with red scale in the "Conversation" pattern. Neither piece apparently marked. Approximate height of tureen 8.25", width 7.75" (handle to handle). Approximate height of sauce/gravy boat5.87", width 8.5". Provenance: Property from the Private Collection of Mrs. Nancy Rutledge Pogue, Blufton, South Carolina (wife of Mr. William Pogue, who served as an heir to the H. & S. Pogue Company department store chain based in Cincinnati, Ohio).
