2 Pieces of 18th - 19thc Ceramic Serving pieces in the "Canton" Blue and White Pattern
1.) Chinese export, hand-painted, octagonal serving platter, 1.5"h x 12"l x 15.25"l.
2.) English, Staffordshire Pedestal Bowl with Transferware decoration, impressed "AO," 3.625"h x 8.75"d.It is interesting to note that this pattern is thought to have been designed in England in the 18thc, based on Chinese paintings and prints. By the 1840's the English design was being copied by the Chinese for export to England and the Continent.
Condition
Both free of repairs and cracks 1.) No major chips but expected inconsistencies in glaze and some spots of kiln grit throughout. 2.) chip under the lip .25" x .25".
