Description
A beautiful Maya polychrome bowl from Honduras, ca. 400 - 700 AD. It is 4-3/4" in diameter and is decorated with an upper register of linear designs and a lower register of glyphs, executed in orange and red against a black background. The rim décor consists of jaguar spots and the interior has a re wash over the orange slip. Remnants of blue colored stucco are indicative of the importance of this vessel.
