Description
A large Maya bowl from Mexico, ca. 400 – 800 AD. This deeply incised example is 7-1/4” in diameter, 6” high and depicts a calabash form, probably denoting a ritual, textile wrapped gift design. The interior is blackened and the piece has strong mineral deposits. En exceptionally large example of the type.
