Southwestern USA, Hopi tribe, mid to late 20th century CE. A bright and colorful katsina doll, carved of wood and outfitted with bright painted surfaces, feathers, felt, leather, and other materials. The katsina represents the Katsinam, ancestral beings. This particular one represents the squirrel with his feathered ears. Size: 6.25" W x 13.5" H (15.9 cm x 34.3 cm)
