Description
A Russian model 1909 saber from the property of king Nikola I of Montenegro, dating: first quarter of the 20th Century, provenance: Russia, dating: first quarter of the 20th Century, provenance: Russia, Slightly-curved, single-and false-edged blade with fuller at the center and double groove at the back, engraved and gilded with royal monogram N I undercrown among floral motifs on one side at the first part, then featuring a double-headed eagle (of Montenegro) among floral motifs; writing of the Zlatoust factory at the back, some areas of rust,tang with stamp 'A'. One-quillon, gilt-brass grip, the medal of the cap with adjustments, above Alessandro III monogram (it can be visible by twisting off the pommel from the inside of the cap) is a silver medal with monogram 'N I' under crown and made of gilded brass. Horn grip with spirals. Wooden scabbard with leather covering and gilded, bronze mounts. A suspension ring and loop., length 95 cm.
