1890's Imperial Russian St. Andrew "56" (14K) Solid Yellow Gold & Enamel Badge W/Hallmarks "Eduard St Petersburg" - This piece is made of solid 56 (the Imperial Russian standard for 14K gold), and is embelished with white, blue, red and black enamel. The front depicting a St. Andrews cross upon which Andrew is crucified. The ends of the cross have the Latin letters "SAPR" abbreviating ST. ANDREW PATRON OF RUSSIA, and set upon a gold with black enamel Imperial double headed eagle with chased feathering, enameled eyes and crowns. The verso similarly enameled, and chased from the beaks of the eagle's head is an enameled banner emblazoned with the motto of the order (in Crylic), for "Faith & Loyalty". The entire piece is suspended from a blue enameled ribbon. The ribbon is flowing from beneath an enameled crown with suspension hooks. The left foot of the eagle is hallmarked "St. Petersburg, 56" gold standard, and in Cyrillic "Eduard". This is truly an investment quality piece, as it belongs in a museum.
