Rare and important edition. Esoteric work which had enormous success. Around 1140, the Irish Bishop Malachia, a friend of St. Bernard, prophesied papal succession, until the time that Peter would return to the earth to take the keys of the Church. The book was published by the theologian Henry Sonesio, who writes the biography of St. Malachia and discuss until the motto of Clement X, pope from 1670 to 1676. The remaining mottos are then listed and the work ends with a chapter on the end of the world, which according to the author should have happened in 1947.Fine specimen.
