First Italian edition of this rare work written in defense of the Society of Jesus. It is the translation of the original French edition appeared in 1826 in Paris under the title The Anti-Montlosier ou les Jésuites defendus, justifiés vengès et des attaques de leurs ennemis. In the controversy with Montlosier A. It provides a detailed history of the Society of Jesus in France from its origins to its suppression, defending the role for over two centuries in the religious and cultural fields. The text concludes on p. 152: follow the "Notes" with a number of original documents, including orders, edicts and papal bulls.Slight damages on the spine, overall good copy.
