Description
Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Valdivian, ca. 3500 to 1500 BCE. A special trio of terracotta "Venus" figures, mold-made and finely detailed with petite visages comprised of delicately incised features, framed by coiffures, the two on the exterior with pronounced breasts, the central darker one a deliberately truncated torso, interesting, as scholars believe that these female figures probably were fertility idols. The two on the right show nice remains of red pigment while the other shows white pigment. Fabulous figurines representing the first Venus Idols in the Americas! Custom stand. Size: tallest measures ~ 2.25" H (5.7 cm); 2.875" H (7.3 cm) on stand
