Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. This is a well-shaped hollow pottery figure of a female that stands in a very stable manner on its own. Her arms are held out to the side and she stands with her legs planted firmly out. She wears a large nose ring and four earrings on each ear. Her head has a bulbous hair style that may suggest skull shaping as a form of beauty in this culture. Size: 5.4" W x 7.55" H (13.7 cm x 19.2 cm)
