Catalog Notes: The Islamized Koro people in the Kafanchan plateau in Central Nigeria are known for their abstracted, nonrepresentational dance crests. The headdresses are used in dances and masquerades celebrating planting and harvesting. The crest is placed on a dancer's head and tentlike robes then cover the dancer.
