Description
This exquisitely carved old jade pei is most likely from the Qing Dynasty (1636 – 1911 ce) reflecting work from older periods. The small heavy disk features openwork carving of a dragon. The ornament is approximately 2 inches long, 1-7/8 wide, and 3/16 inch thick (25.4 mm/in) with carved relief of varying depth.
Condition
The old jade exhibits surface alteration and a waxy luster from restoration. From a private collection, this amulet is clean, however will be sold without further restoration (as is).
