Item Details

Description

A standard 6" style frame with the Thompson 1869 patent. The frame has no Thompson marking but it's pretty obvious that this is what it is. The top bail assembly is a little stiff. The brass nut on the top works fine to loosen the lid off. The lid has a marking that shows a shadow effect where the bail assembly crosses it. The lid is not railroad marked. This frame has a larger diameter bell. It has an all original glass fount and brass burner. The pinch-pot clips have the correct return springs on the underside. The frame is straight and true. The metal shows age with no rot.

The globe is a classic 6" tear drop with a long extended base. The globe is heavy. The globe has no markings which is typical on this older style.

If somebody has a marked lid and a poor frame, this would be a great upgrade. It just needs a good cleaning.
